Miami Spice 2015 | Fontana At The Biltmore Hotel

La Fontana Ristorante at the iconic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables boasts indoor and patio seating in the lovely courtyard. It is always such a treat to visit The Biltmore and particularly the lobby to look at the beautiful finches in the birdcages. La Fontana also changes their Miami Spice menu on a weekly basis and offer lunch Monday through Saturday and dinner every day of the week. The following is a list of the options available on my visit.

On the Miami Spice Menu:

Appetizers: Your choice of (1) Salmon Tartare, (2) Quinoa Salad or (3) Grilled Octopus. I chose the salmon tartare and could not be happier! It was three layers with chilled and diced mango on the bottom, avocado in the middle and the salmon with a dollop of cilantro cream and dill on the top. The combination was as exquisite as it was refreshing. I loved it!

Entrées: Your choice of (1) 9oz grilled pork chop topped with fontina cheese and spinach and mashed potatoes, (2) seared wahoo with red onions and bonnet peppers and sauteed spinach and (3) bow tie pasta with sausage in a lemony cream sauce. I chose the pork chop and it was very tasty and juicy and was very well complimented by the cheese, spinach and potatoes.

Dessert: Your choice of (1) mini cannolis with candied fruit pieces or (2) lemon sorbet with limoncello. I chose the cannolis and I absolutely loved that they used candied fruit instead of the regular chocolate chips and the ricotta had a lemon tinge to it that played perfectly well. The waiter also brought me the lemon sorbert and limoncello dessert and I happily scooped up equal parts to each cannoli bite and it was a true flavorful explosion.

Summary: Very nice and a bargain at $23. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was very relaxing and peaceful and I will most definitely be returning again.
